Three laws

1> Arthur Clarke's Three laws

2> Newton's three laws of motion

3> Asimov's three laws of robotics

Arthur C. Clarke formulated the following three "laws" of prediction:

1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic

In a 1973 revision of his compendium of essays, Profiles of the Future, Clarke acknowledged the Second Law and proposed the Third in order to round out the number, adding "As three laws were good enough for Newton, I have modestly decided to stop there."

# Isaac Asimov wrote a corollary to Clarke's First Law, stating

"When, however, the lay public rallies round an idea that is denounced by distinguished but elderly scientists and supports that idea with great fervor and emotion -- the distinguished but elderly scientists are then, after all, probably right."

Arthur C. Clarke, Newton and Asimov. They all have a set of three laws named after them. Clarke for prediction of the future, Newton for motion and Asimov for robotics. Kepler got left out. So did Jorge Cham (http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive.php?comicid=221).

Each had their "three laws"

Clarke's three laws?????

Arthur C Clarke
Isaac Newton
Isaac Asimov

I'm guessing the connect is "three laws"
Newton with his 3 on motion, Clarke on his laws of prediction

Three laws:
Clarke's three laws of prediction, Newton's three laws of gravitation and Asimov's three laws of roboticsw

Clarke's three laws
(the pics are ob - do i don't think i need to explain - read the wiki article if you want)

ISAAC ASIMOV
Asimov's 3 laws of robotics, clarke's 3 laws of predictability, newton's three laws of motion.
THREE LAWS
I think I already answered this one

Analogous to Newton's 3 laws of motions- Clarke formulated the 3 laws of prediction. Asimov added a corollary tot he 1st law of prediction.
