What is happening here?



The island of Surtsey which was formed due to volcanic eruptions around Nov,1963 off the coast of Iceland

My guess was Anak Krakatoa emerging from the sea but google tells me its Surtsey, a new volcanic island off the coast of Iceland. Nice question.
