1.Balto
2.Diphtheria
3.Eskimos at Nome,Alaska

Great Race of Mercy.
Diphtheria antitoxin was relayed to Nome,Alaska(where a Diphtheria epidemic had broken out) by dog sled across Alaska. Balto led the relay team to Alaska and the statue in New York was dedicated to all dogs.

The connect is the Nome serum run of 1925 which is commemorated annually by the iditarod sled race. The first picture is a statue of Balto in central park. The dog supposedly ran the hardest sections of the serum run. The second visual shows a Diphtheria victim (the serum was to contain an outbreak of Diphtheria). The third visual shows a bunch of people in the Nome gold rush.
