First pic is Tevor Chappell. 2nd pic is Maharaja of Patiala. The Maharaja was a famous underarm bowler in early 20th century, while Chappell is well known for the underarm bowling incident. In the 1989 French Open, Michael Chang served underarm to Ivan Lendl (3rd pic). for more info read this

Connection, Dennis tried to introduce Aluminium bat from wooden bat so as it was done in Tennis from wooden racquet to aluminium racquet. May be others find better connection.
