Daily Question 19

This blog's first ever completely textual question, courtesy Jojo.

The word X comes from the words A (which is a sort of laugh) and B which is a noise made by violent nasal breathing. The word Y comes C, which is something to do with a horse and D which means victorious. Although X's etymology makes sense, Y's is not so obvious. X and Y both come from Z which essentially means deliberate nonsense. Z in its original form is very famous, especially among kids.

A, B, C, D, X, Y, Z, funda?

(Word etymos - Jojo is my kinda guy :) )

ANSWER :
Z - Jabberwocky
A - Chuckle
B - Snort
C - Gallop
D - Triumphant
X - Chortle
Y - Galumphant

Words from Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass, from the nonsense poem Jabberwocky. Check out the wiki page for more details.

Cracked by Kabalah only. Check out the comments for some interesting guesses from Samaadhi.

With that, its time for me to say Au Revoir. Srivats is back in business.
